To understand how Kevis can actually give you natural hair regrowth results, you need to know how a healthy follicle functions. Basically there are three phases that a normal, healthy follicle goes through when growing hair.

1) The ANAGEN PHASE - This is the growth cycle of your follicle. The hair shaft is being produced and will take approximately 2-6 years to reach maturity.

2) The CATAGEN PHASE - This is the resting phase. The hair shaft is at it's peak of maturity and will rest in the follicle for approximately 2 months.

3) The TELOGEN PHASE - This is the shedding phase, lasting 1-2 weeks. The follicle will release the hair shaft for a new growth cycle to begin.

Time lengths of the three phases can vary with each individual. Genetics, blood flow, nutrition and lifestyle all play a part in affecting these cycles. In general, a person has an average of 100,000 hair shafts on a healthy head of hair and all of these connected follicles are in different phases. Also, individuals may lose 50-100 hairs per day (24 hours) on average. So if you see 5-10 hairs in the shower, don't panic - that's normal. If you are starting to see 20-30-panic(!) - that's not normal.

When DHT (Di-hydro testosterone) builds up in the follicle, it cuts off the normal supply of nutrients provided by blood flow and the follicle begins to shrink. In fact, the follicle will continue to miniaturize until it finally dies. This DHT build can also send the natural hair regrowth process "out of whack." Growth (Anagen) phases can be shortened and shedding (Telogen) phases can last longer. Sometimes a phase can be skipped altogether resulting in hair regrowth results that are subpar to what you were used to in the past.

KEVIS: Magic or Just Sound Science?

The most exciting feature of Kevis is that the product actually targets the DHT where it causes the problem, in the follicle. Kevis enables your follicles to rejuvenate and return to their natural hair regrowth process. From your first application, Kevis will begin to remove built up DHT from the follicle, seal the receptor site to prevent future build up and nuetralize the DHT molecules in the scalp before they reach the follicle. This process will continue through dilligent usage of the product as instructed. Kevis will work much more thoroughly than any other product on the market and using Kevis gives you the best chance for natural hair regrowth that is scientifically possible, but you need to have patience. It's not going to happen over night, or a week or a month even, because it's a healing process, not a stimulant. Let's take take a closer look at the process...

Once Kevis starts removing the DHT, the follicles will naturally receive more blood flow and actually starts to grow. With continued usage, the follicle can grow back to 80-90 and even 100 percent of it's original size. However, a growing follicle does not always equal hair growth. Huh? That's right, the healthy follicle must also be in the Anagen Phase to grow. Remember, this is the growth cycle. Once the follicle is healthy it will return to YOUR NATURAL HAIR REGROWTH CYCLES, and when that happens normal healthy hair will start the regrowth process. A frequently asked question is, "When will I start to see results?" The answer is, we don't know... Everyone is different, with a different hair loss story and set of circumstances. We can't possibly predict a point in time when you will see results, but we can give you averages based on satisfied customer reports that have been accumulated for over 20 years in Europe and 12 years in the United States:

A REMINDER: The following is based on live follicles. Dead follicles will no longer produce hair.

DAY 1: Most people will notice a tingling sensation on their scalp from the first application and may experience a reddish flush that will last anywhere from 5-25 minutes. This is normal due to natural vaso dialators (minerals to help blood flow) contained in the Kevis products.

1-3 MONTHS*: Most people will notice a change of improved hair quality within 1-2 months. Kevis delivers a load of nutrients to the follicle and the hair shaft that can quickly make hair more flexible, shinier, stronger and give it more body. If experiencing excessive shedding, Kevis can often stop the shedding between 1-3 months. Some (but they are in the minority) do see actual growth within 3 months. If you don't see results in 3 months of using even an aggressive program, DON'T PANIC, Kevis is still working, you'll just have to be more patient.

3-6 MONTHS: About 50% of Men and approximately 60% of women will see Hair regrowth results to some extent during this period. Dormant follicles (under the surface of the scalp but not producing) may show signs of velus hair (tiny, peach fuzz like hairs). Previous Velus hairs may grow considerably longer and thicker in diameter and damaged hair (thin hair) may thicken up and start to grow in length. The overall quality of the hair should improve as well.

6-9 MONTHS: Approximately 70% of men and about 80% of women should see substantial hair regrowth in this period as described above...only better. 90% of all Kevis clients report an overall improved quality to the hair as well as any excessive shedding should have stopped.

9-12 MONTHS: 90% of all clients, male and female should see some dramatic results of natural hair regrowth during this time period. Most damaged hair is now normal, velus hairs are considerably longer and thicker and the majority of dormant follicles are now producing some type of hair from velus (at the least) to normal (at the maximum.) Most clients can end their "aggressive" approach at the end of one year and begin a maintenance program of reduced usage.

*Note: Occassionaly, some (mostly women, but also a few males) may experience a brief and temporary period of increased shedding. This can be caused by several factors such as: LONG HAIR, which is heavier and may shed easier as the follicle is in the process of rejuvenation. MASSAGING the Kevis treatment into the scalp can cause the weakened follicle to release hair in the growth or resting phase; and REJUVENATION can cause a growing follicle to "push out" a thinner hair. Again, don't panic, this is normal and temporary. In these few cases, you just need to weather this storm and the shedding will eventually subside. If this scenario occurs, it usually happens in the first 3 months and can last 1-4 weeks.
